I just got my 2133 mininote and bought one with linux on it to upgrade to XP Pro since I have a legit copy available. Upon trying to install XP Pro with an external DVD drive, I now only get the following error message:
The bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant. Please contact your system vendor or visit www for an updated bios. If you are unable to obtain an updated bios or the latest bios supplied by your vendor is not acpi compliant, you can turn off acpi mode during text mode setup.
I not sure what this means, any help would be greatly appreciated.
1.2ghz VIA

USB Boot with XP Pro SP1
ISO Bootable with XP Pro SP2 as well
I can't get past this.
WinXP is more like a downgrade than an upgrade, but hey it's your computer.
You will have to have a have a WinXP SP2 disk to install from. Use nlite to slipstream service pack 2 in to your winXP disk.

Load winXP w/ SP2 first.
Then load HP drivers-

Then install service pack 3. (Some people have had problems if they try to load sound drivers after SP3.)
I did this on one of my mini-notes, same model as yours, and had no problems.
