    When you first start the install process, at the point where you can partition the disk;
    do not just reuse the Vista partition;
    delete it, re-create it (same size and place), re-format it (not quick format).

    While diddling the partitions, you can also get rid of the second (D:) partition and
    include that space in the C: partition if you want to. Not required.

    I would clear ALL partions and re-create a only partition?
    Thanks for you support! and I sorry for my poor english...

    That would work - one single disk partition.
    Just delete all existing partitions, when you add the first, take the option to use the whole disk.

    Another way is to delete all existing partitions, then make two - the first (C:) for programs and the second (D:) for all of your own files.

    That makes keeping backups of your files easier but means you have to have some
    idea of how to split the space. So unless you are a long time user, you will not know
    the relative sizes that would work for you.

    Go with the easy way - make a single, whole disk partition.

    I received an XP Pro recovery disk from HP in order to downgrade from Vista Business but they did not give me any product key for the XP Pro disk. Should I use the Vista product key that is under the Mininote?
