My nlite install cd for WinXP sp3 never gives me 30 day trial authentication warnings, but when I put it on a USB memory stick it does. Why?
I use nlite to slipstream and install xp since 2 years back and I have this nlite cd I always used with my notebook and it was great.
however after I used the same cd as the origin to make a usb boot & install key with nlite, to be able to install XP on my 2133 mininote, I noticed that windows has a 30 day limit and authentication and all this stuff.
the cd is based on an original windows home cd, but I have long since lost it and the key. not that it matters much.
I didn't actually notice this until a few days ago when I used the usb key to install XP on my notebook and then the notebook also has this 30 day limit which can be annoying.
I know ways to get around the 30 day limit so that is not a problem in itself, I'm just curious as to why there would be such a thing on the USB install key but not on the same Nlite cd that is the origin of the usb key
as far as I know they are identical so I think there is something with the software that puts the files on the usb key that makes it so.
I hope I make this clear.
Any ideas?
