Have you tried it with someone elses wireless network? It may not like your router?
I tried with 4 different networks.....no luck...
There isn't a lot of info here so I guess try to eliminate the obvious...
I'd assume you have the blue light on on the right side (not amber color).
Can you verify that there are wireless networks available??? Maybe another laptop sitting right next to your 2133 that is online??
Are the access points powerful... reading full bars?? are they open sources .. transmitting SSID and non secured or mac address protected? Sometimes you can "connect" to a wireless source but will have "limited connectivity".
Have you tried going to "network connections" in Control Panel"? There are a ton of things to try there..LAN connections, setup wizards etc.
also check your Device Manager" and see if there is anything there that may be of help
Hi,
My 2133 came with SUSE SLED 10 and has the broadcom wireless card, I wiped that and used XP following fauxpas' guides on here.
I installed SP2 from a slipstreamed disk, and then installed drivers as listed on this post:
http://www.hp2133guide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1325
and then installed SP3, and wireless is perfect.
I have read other posts about XP and wireless after SP3 - not machine specific but being problematic.
My other PC runs XP, from a slipstreamed SP3 disk with a ralink card, again no wireless problems.
Do you have other devices connected, what if any encryption are you using, have you enabled client access control (mac filtering).
In wifi not all router and card combinations always support all options, start it simple - no encryption, no filtering if it works then crank up the security.
