    After installing XP, here's the sequence of drivers;

    1. VIA Chipset Installation Utility.exe

    2. VIA Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows XP.exe

    3. HPMini-Note-Sound-Driver-Patch.exe

    4. HPMini-Note-Sound-Driver.exe

    5. Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver.exe

    6. Chicony Camera Driver.exe

    7. HPMini-Note-Blue-Tooth-Driver.exe

    8. Synaptics Touchpad Driver.exe

    9. HP 3D DriveGuard for Microsoft Windows XP.exe

    10. Essential System Updates for Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2).exe

Please note the 3 x in red were downloaded from here... Just follow the instructions and the audio will work. Thanks Josh?

The rest in green were downloaded from the HP site here.

I found those drivers were all I needed for a fully functional and quick 2133.

Fully loaded, she runs nod32 Antivirus and no tweaks to speed her up. From start-up button to fully booted with wireless connected takes 70sec. Wakeup from sleep is 8sec with wireless connected.

I removed the grille from the fan's exhaust port and also found the bios setting to have the fan on all the time when A.C. connected.
I'm preparing to UNinstall SP3 so I can make the fixes to the audio problems. Apparently SP3 renders the sound driver patch useless. Once I've fixed the audio problems... will reinstalling SP3 negate what I've just done? Are there clear benefits to having SP3, or should I just stick with SP2?

I'll try your sound drivers and see if it helps me since I have trouble getting sound with xvids in xp atm.

brb to tell if I have any success

    edit: seems good.

    Hi,

The links on the site for the Broadcom drivers and the Sound patch are not working, Is there a problem or is it just me.

    Many Thanks

They've been removed for some reason. Probably when the forum got the facelift.

I'll upload personal links in a moment.

Hi fauxpas, me again. Have updated windows and have now lost sound! I have been trying to get the latest purpose built drivers for XP (sp42375.exe) from the HP site but the links don't seem to be working. Any ideas where I can get hold of it please?

    Many Thanks

    Paul

What do you mean "updated windows"? Allowed windows to update drivers?

If so just roll back driver should work.

Thank you very much for this great post. Finally got up the nerve to install XP on my Mini Note 2133. I've had the downgrade disks for a couple of years now. Anyway thanks to your post and many others on the forum I am now up and running away.....
