    Hi,

    Probably not being thick...

    1. Open WinRAR.
    2. Drag the WXPBOOT.EXE file into the WinRAR window.
    3. You will see the contents of the WXPBOOT.EXE file, which is a file called WXPBOOT.IMA.
    4. Drag WXPBOOT.IMA onto your desktop from WinRAR.
    5. You will get an error message but the file will be successfully extracted.
    6. Now move the .IMA file into your physdiskwrite folder.

    Hope that helps,

    Mike

Winrar just show the .exe file. As soon as I hit it, the bloody thing just executes.

    This is highly frustrating!

Good Grief! I am going to hire someone to do this for me. I just want this little baby to work to get my email when I am on vacation. These instructions have too many possibilities for me to mess everything up - I leave on Monday, and even though I don't really like the Vista, I may just leave well enough alone until I have more time to spare. Thanks for taking the time to put all this info on here though, very generous of you and the others who actually seem to know what you're doing in this media!

Courtenay: it's only a couple of hours if it goes smoothly and you follow the instructions. I would say the biggest challenge is the "fdisk" of the drive and the copying of all the files across, if you're not familiar with DOS or the command line it's a bit intimidating.

    Hope no-one minds another guide.

This is meant for the Asus EeePc's - but it works fine on an HP2133. I don't think the links for the freeware required still work, but a quick google will bring them up, and if all else fails, give me a PM and I'll send them to you as they're pretty small.

This requires only one USB stick (a 1gb should be plenty). Only downside is that you have to fully format your HDD or you'll get an HAL.dll error. Also - make sure you download the XP drivers for your ethernet and/or wifi adaptor before you do this, and have it available on an SD or USB stick, otherwise you won't be able to connect to the net to get the rest of the HP2133 XP drivers.

    Hope this helps someone.
