Default How long is your BootTime?

Hello fellow Vista users!!! How long is your BootTime? I am wanting to compare different boot times to understand what is "good" and what is "long". I realize that given the variances of how people measure boot time this could get ugly, but I found an Event Viewer tip over at PC Stats that can help make this more objective.

"Tip #52 - Check bootup and shutdown times with the Windows Vista Event viewer

The Windows Vista Event Viewer is not a tool most Vista users will find themselves checking often, but it has a few handy uses. One thing you can do with the event viewer is check your bootup and shutdown times and compare them to your system's previous times. "

I followed the instructions and I got the last four values for the BootTime variable:

    173245
    175995
    165911
    173249

Those are milliseconds, so if my math serves me right, that works to around 172 seconds average. Previously I was measuring with a stop watch from the time I hit the power button until I got the second chime (after the Welcome screen), and was getting 80 seconds, so I assume the BootTime measurement includes EVERYTHING that loads at boot time.

Some other time measurements use a very subjective value of "when you get a usable pointer". I think this is more objective, and FUN looking at the Event Viewer guts! Its a shame XP doesn't have something similar so we can compare apples to apples, but at least amongst the Vista users we can find out what "good" looks like. My boot times are about 30 seconds longer than my XP desktop, which I felt was not bad at all.

So, how long is YOUR BootTime?

I'm using the 1.6 GHz with 1Gb RAM, and arrive at around 60 seconds for booting. Just bought a 2Gb RAM chip today, not sure if this will reduce boot time but surely it won't hurt overall performance.

these boot times are measured manually.
the accurate method is from the time of tapping the power switch to the soonest time that you can launch your first program.
