    Default Help on Win7 Installation

    Hi,

I've already searched Google and this forum but to no avail. So let me briefly tell my story.

I had Ubuntu installed on my HP Mini 110, but I've decided to try out Windows 7. So I got myself an ISO, "burned" it to a USB Flashdrive and booted it from my Mini. It boots alright, copies the files, starts Windows and then, instead of getting to the Install screen, I get a command prompt like this:

    "Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe"

I can't write anything on it (the letters come out ^A, ^B and so on...). If I close the window the netbook just restarts. I know that my windows copy is not the problem, since it boots just fine on my HP Pavillion laptop.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and how I can solve this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Miguel

It seems that only problems there could be that somehow the boot order has been changed, or the drive mode, IDE, SATA, or ACHI has been changed.
You can zero out your drive with software, then just reinstall Windows. You could also remove the drive, install it in another machine and reformat it. That should enable you to return the drive to your machine and install Windows.

I assume that the Windows XP Embedded operating system would be used as pre-installation environment to assist the resettlement and the restoration of the operating system. If this doesn't help then you should contact to HP support.

I have read this and the thing is that I want to say you that if your current version of Windows Vista can not be upgraded to the version of Windows 7 that you like, you can still install Windows 7 using the Custom installation instead.
