Angry Keyboard @-sign not working in W7?

I tried a dual-boot installation with Vista Home Basic and Windows 7 RC in my Hp 2133 a few months ago. Everything worked fine except the @-key (with Swedish keyboard layout). However, I had completely forgotten about that little problem when I got the chance to purachase a genuine Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade license (localized Swedish, of course).

The upgrade was smooth and I am very pleased with performance and functions. But the @-key still doesn't work. :-|

In a Swedish keyboard layout you type @ by pressing AltGr + 2. The other AltGr combinations such as £ and $ (with are located on AltGr +3 and AltGr +4, respectively) work fine, but AltGr + 2 just makes the window flash. No alarming "bing" or anything, just a "current window blink". No matter what application - same thing i Notepad, IE, Word and Firefox. It just won't work.

Ideas anyone??

I found a solution!

Many notebooks, including HP Mini 2133, are using an add-on software to facilitate switching from internal to external display, changing screen resolution to match external display, and so on. For the 2133 its "S3 Screen Toys".

This software adds hotkeys, for example Ctrl+Alt+2 to switch between internal and external display. However, Ctrl+Alt+2 equals AltGr+2 on Scandinavian keyboards. The S3 Screen Toys thereby kidnaps the "@"-key, making it impossible to type it using a Scandinavian keyboad layout. Deactivating hotkey Ctrl+Alt+2 enables @ again.

Problem solved!

Quite right. With Win7 there's no need for the S3 software at all.
