Chkdsk? Hey guys, I've had some sort of violent issue with Google Chrome. It crashed, closed and died. Now, whenever I start it, I get an error that there are some corrupt sectors in it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and get the same error. I'm sure I could just install it somewhere else and ignore the problem, but I'd like to get at the problem just incase it's a symptom of some deeper issue. I, ofcourse, can't run chkdsk whilste logged in (not in write mode, anyway) but when I do in read-only it does tell me there are some corrupted sectors. So, here is my issue - how do I go about forcing my computer to run chkdsk before windows starts? I told it to schedule a check on the next reboot but it just goes straight to windows. I tried the ntfschck utility to set the drive as dirty but it still boots directly to windows. I'm getting frustrated and the next step will be just to nuke the mo-fo...but that's a bit extreme. I dont want to have to go through the process of extracting a win7 iso to an SD card but if that's the only way then that's what I'll do but I was hoping you guys could offer up some better solution.
