It seems you have the num lock activated, the characters you get when you press the keys are numbers? is so just press fn+num lock key (i dont remember where it is exactly but it should be over the number keys) and it will go back to normal.

Hi guys, since a couple of days i'm experiencing a tedious problem with some of the buttons of my keyboard not working as expected. These are "u", "i", "o", "p", "j", "k", "l" and "m"; they print a different character from what they should do. The strange thing is, i' ve used the pc w/ W7 for a while without problems. Suddenly I switched the pc on and I found the problem. Actually i'm using the on-screen keyboard but writing is waaaay boring and slow. I' ve tried no solutions yet. Maybe something messed up with the settings? Will you help me? Thanks in advance!

Oh yes, they are! And there is also a star (*). However i'll try deactivating the num lock...i wouldn't have never figured out the solution was so simple! Have a nice day, mate!
