Default Windows 7 Retail and HP2140

I am about to take the Windows 7 plunge on my HP2140 and was hoping others who have already done it can share their experience with me.

I am deciding between Win7 Pro and Home Premium (not sure if I want to burn a Pro license on the 2140).

Can the 2140 run 64 bit? Would I want to?

HP drivers page only has a couple of drivers, and from what I have read Win7 recognizes everything, but I also read about some problems with not recognizing the webcam. I downloaded all the Vista drivers just in case.

What drivers did you use?

Any chipset drivers needed?

Comments welcome!

Generally vista drivers work when no 7 driver is available, i have not used it on the 2140 tough so i really don't know.
It wont run the 64 bit version, since the processor is 32 bit, i don't think the 64 bit version is of much use to you anyway, since the 2140 has a maximum 2Gb of ram (the main reason to go 64 bit is if you have 4Gb or more, its not the only reason, but the most relevant right now), but both home premium and pro come with 64 and 32 bit versions (so if you decide to install it in another machine instead you can install the 64 bit one.
Maybe the chart found in this page can help you decide between versions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions
I think that home premium is good for most users (thats the one I'm getting), unless you have some specific needs due to your work or something like that.

Well, it turns out Win7 Pro retail found almost all the drivers for everything on the HP2140. I installed the Vista camera drivers and Webcam software, and the HP 3D Guard software to get rid of an exclamation point in device manager (I have a SSD so dont need 3D Guarg, but the sensor was not installing the driver).

So far so good, pretty painless install, and everything works (including bluetooth, wireless LAN, etc.).
