| Junior Member | Had this issue on my HP 5101 with Windows 7. The computer would connect to my Wi-Fi network and then either drop the link speed or disconnect. This seems to be an issue with Vista as well, from the stuff that I was reading, but it certainly was an issue on my setup. The settings for the TCP/IP stack were set incorrectly by default. As administrator, I used the following netsh command: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted DISABLED may be used in place of HIGHLYRESTRICTED, but that may cause other connection problems. All's well with my Wi-Fi, with very fast transfer rates and 130 Mbps connect speeds. Use autotuninglevel=normal to set it back to default. |

| Uncle Sam: Do you think this applicable only to secure WLANs or that the auto tuning levels work better on unsecure networks? I have huge problem with my transfers 0,78 when it could be 20 ... over wifi. I would so want to go away from XP but when I installed fresh copy of that It seams like I had the same problem.. I'm using Win7 Ultimate on a Mini 5101 with the broadcom chip. Thanks for all help! /L |
