Default youtube video's choppy

Hey folks, I'm new to the scene and have recently inherited a 2133. It's a great little unit, love it. I installed Windows 7 (7100) and find it runs really well. I let windows decide the performance and so far I'm satisfied with that. The one issue / disappointment I have is with regards to playback in Youtube or other video sites. Do you guys find the video choppy?

I'm running the latest driver (from Windows update) dated Jan '09.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am running the latest version of Flash, installed it yesterday even.

Does anyone else experience this issue? Any other ideas?

So far I've tested this with IE 8 and Chrome. Chrome gets worse and eventually freezes. IE 8 is choppy and lags with bouts of "decent" quality.

In answer to your question, yes, I find yT video choppy. (XP & Firefox.)

Whilst it's acceptable most of the time at LQ resolution, going to HQ, HD or LQ fullscreen gets the stutters going.

I don't know to what extent this will be telling you how to suck eggs, daveb, so excuse me.
-> Firstly, with a Via 1.2ghz processor and Via graphics, don't expect wonders; they were designed (ages ago) to be power-efficient, not "fast".
-> Also flash is notoriously choppy on most, if not all, netbooks. Until Flash is properly GPU accelerated, (and we have suitable GPUs (eg ION),) then there won't be a perfect solution.

We're all in the same boat - waiting.

@montyhar2: what do you mean?
Flash is not possible on the Hp mininote 2133 there are more powerful mini notebooks that struggle hard as flash uses up alot of cpu power

you migh get some frames use XP and enligthen it a bit by disabling services and things like that, use chrome + flash and the via IGP driver for the embedded version of the chrome 9 hc as they are newer :-)

If a video doesn't play continuously, it may be due to your connection speed. You'll need a broadband connection with at least 500+Kbps for the best viewing experience.

Another possible reason for choppy video playback is that our servers are experiencing high traffic. If this is the case, there's not much you can do.
