Im trying to watch AVI/divx files on my 2133 with 1gb, and when i try and watch these types of files the sound is ok but the acctual movie is very stuttered, and does not play smooth, anyone have any ideas what i can do/change to make a movie watchable,

I'd recommend
Media Player Classic Homecinema
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/
To lower CPU usage it's better to disable Aero in compatability tab.
Using MPC + CoreAVC i successfully watched even 720p video (Pixar's "One Man Band" 720p MKV) .
(disable deblocking in CoreAVC settings)
thats great guys just downloaded mplayer and works great, thanks again for all your help
Try this program to play your videos: Download VLC Media Player for Free.

The best views of the browser is VLC player in my position. VLC, but for now, because now some of the best known Windows 7 media player is out techvlc? Community. Where its powerful features is the ability to play almost any format.
After careful examination and consideration KM Player, is now regarded as the Best Pick a place in this category. There are many reasons, but important for ease of use and installation, awesome player and without the need for additional codecs. If you want to play music or video files and not worry about format, VLC Media Player is the best application for a job. With so many media formats out there, VLC Media Player is a complete player that can handle anything.
I am using Shark007 codec pack with media player classic. This package together with its 64-bit adder is the best package that I used. First of all, I can finally get those annoying thumbnails. MKV animation files. So If you are running 64-bit W7, I definitely recommend Shark007 better than all, CCC certification and K - Lite's based. I used to use K - Lite's Mega, but not the right thumbnail support, and the carriage (depending on your build), so I finally gave up.
I as well am experiencing stuttery playback and ive already tried media player classic home cinema. It is entirely possible that in the future Windows and other OS's will add support for it in future releases, I imagine a lot depends on how popular Blu-Ray becomes during the Windows 8 product planning and development cycle.
I tried all the players in this thread and I find Mplayer works best for me - and vlc the worst
