There is a "VIA_chrome9_2.6.33" folder, that the release notes call the DRM source code.
There is even an html manual.
Time to hack around Wish they had released the source code for everything though.

Edit: BTW, drivers for 9.10 are there too

Did anyone manage to use RandR version of xorg.conf for the driver?

    Follow the directions here! https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestin...d%2004.08.2010)

You'll need to modify the xorg.cfg at /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Just sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and look for the section on the ubuntu wiki. I just set them all to the same values. Several key changes you might need to make

    * set option "RandR" "false"
    * set LCD enable to true and CRT enable to false
    * also had to set option "AccelMethod" "EXA" and option "ActiveDevice" "LCD"

Give that a shot. I was able to install UNR and use the computer without the drivers, but some colors were messed up. After installing via drivers, a lot of the icons are rough around the edges, but I'm still working on it.

Haven't tried WiFi yet so don't know if there is any conflict with drivers.

but wheres the point of all that if randr is still not working?
Does that mean the "new" via driver is slower than the old one for 9.02?

    EDIT:
ok i mess my ubuntu UNR 10 up by installing it :-( all colours are disorted and it doesn't boot any more only recoverymode is qorking but out of screen sight ^^

for all people having truble just boot into the recovery mode with root commandline and use:
    nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
edit that file if it's not right and press F3 for saving if you can't see the bottom of you screen :-)
run: fsck if it still doesn't boot after the above method.

    Thanks!

Final thoughts, even if the GPU is slow it feels extremely snapier now than without via driver! the effort is clearly worth it if you are running Ubuntu UNR 10.04 as the desktop gets faster!
