| Anyone installed and tried the new PRESTO Beta or SPLASHTOP ... both Linux streamlined desktops on their Mini-Note? I've been reading about them in Lifehacker.com and they sound very speedy, streamlined, and quick. Both of them operate within/on top of Windows. I tried to use WUBI on my Gateway Notebook, but had trouble switching between Ubuntu and Vista. Always had trouble getting back into Windows. Got so frustrated that I got rid of Linux/Wubi...just wasn't worth the trouble, although I really liked the OS. I have too many Windows only programs, so need to be able to switch back and forth between Windows and Linux if I dual-boot. I was wondering if these two new options might be a better solution? |
