i'm sorry that my recommendation of 1024x600 produces low res. i may have quoted the wrong resolution to you.
i own the 1280x764 model and can't test the other resolutions reliably.

I was Just wondering if any one has got Dualview (mirror desktop to VGA out) to work. I can get it work with Luvit's xorg file but I loose video playback. With Who's xorg I have Video play back but no Dualveiw. I tried to edit Who's Xorg myself for 4 days now with no luck. I obviously have no idea what I am doing.
F.04 BIOS
2.6.27-7 generic kernel

I took luv's xorg.conf and then I noticed it has several sections for everything i.e. more than one section for Screen, monitor, etc etc. So checking the logs I figured out what section I was actually using and got rid of everything else. This seem to have an impact because the behavior of the desktop changed. With the original xorg the desktop wouldnt fit on my screen, whenever I moved the mouse beyong the limits of the screen the mouse would disappear not allowing me to see the rest of my desktop. After the changes I just described the desktop still wouldnt fit however when i moved the mouse beyong the limits of the screen the desktop would "scroll" so I was able to see all my desktop altough not at the same time.Originally Posted by wael_hossam
So then I just changed every reference to 1280 768 to 1024 600 and thats it.
Hope that helps

Has a nicely document clean xorg.conf. See what you think.
Please add to the wiki if you have any new info! Make sure to add comments to explain what you've changed and why (especially when changing the xorg.conf files)

That is exactly what I did today and was successful.
Before that, I tried to connect an external 17" LCD while the resolution was still 1280x768 and I could see the whole desktop on it while it was not all visible on the laptop screen. It is important to mention to help anyone else that I had to change the Panel ID to "9" instead of "17" recommended by everyone!
Now since the I have the nice resolution I would love to enable compiz, where you successful in this? It seems we have the same HW configuration.
Thanks
