    I tried a new install with f.06 ... just for fun :lol:
    No success. So I think it is still best to stick with (up-/downgrading to) f.04 and upgrade to f.06 after a successful installation. At least that's what I did.

    Mint-6 is using 2.6.27
    Jaunty is using 2.6.28
    You will want 2.6.29 if you intend to have a minimum of wireless problems - -
    So wait or roll your own from kernel.org.

    mm k.

    i used the following:
    -kx870at mini 2133
    -ubuntu 8.10 iso burned to CD
    -usb CD-ROM drive (no usb booting or installation).

    do you have anything different?

    I just yesterday (on my Cloudbook) went the route:
    Install Everex Ubuntu (hardy)
    Upgrade hardy -> intrepid
    Upgrade intrepid -> jaunty
    All of those Ubuntu kernels used "xforcevesa" on the kernel command line.
    - - - - -
    So if you get an unusable screen - -
    if "xforcevesa" is not in the kernel command line - add it; if it already is - take it out.

    Default Problem reinstaling 8.1 on mini2133 kx870at

    hello luvit, i did change from Bios from F.03 to F.04 as you said, but when i try to install ubuntu 8.10 it does not work, I had it installed with the instrucions on this web site

    http://sites.vanasdale.com/ubuntu-8-...-note-kx870at/

    but when i tried again it did not let me either (does this has to do anything with bios F.04???), now my mini has no OS, what can i do, please help, apparently there is no method to install ubuntu 9.04 on this specific model, I don't wanna go back to ubuntu 8.04 because i cant find a site to download ubuntu 8.10 standard iso. ubuntu web site only has 9.04 and 8.04 2
    Thank you
