Flextronics are a large Singapore-based manufacturing company, who have just been handed a big fat order to produce 2 Million netbooks for HP. What's more interesting is that the Flextronics quote for all this work is just $45 a unit, almost half the industry standard of $70. A quick piece multiplication reveals that HP will be saving themselves $50M on the order compared to the standard cost of netbook production.

This means HP is getting major savings on its 2010 line of HP Minis, hopefully that will filter down to the consumers in some way...
