Just got my Mini 5101 today. Installed windows 7 first thing. Works great. Aero worked straight off the bat. Most drivers needed to be updated. No wifi at all after first install. Grabbed vista drivers and installing away. Any questions/pics needed? Would be happy to right up a review.

Win 7 works fine after drivers are installed. No 3g. thats what a phone is for.
What I meant was 3g internet access. Like this external one...
The latest acer aspire has internal 3g or 3.5g internet access and I hear the 5101 has it as an option...

omg, im not a retard. yes it has the option, but no i did not select it. i tether my G1 (android based) phone to my comp via bluetooth or wifi.
I was wondering do you notice any fan noise on your 5101?
Was thinking about getting one, but was on the fence.
I had the 2133 and loved it in-spite of some fan noise. It was noticeable, but no deal breaker.
Sounds good. I did a Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor install and pretty much the machine is compatible just need to eliminate Windows Live One Care and it's ready to install. I'm not much of a computer geek but it appears the 5105 can be upgraded to 2GB of memory, even if a user purchased the XP version of this netbook (limited at 1GB). It looks like Windows 7 will fully support netbooks without having to downgrade or have the OS run in XP mode. My big concern is video playback on iTunes on Apple's DRM infested iTunes downloads; really frustrating but I don't know if it will be fixed by Windows 7 or if Apple needs to cut the fat on their DRM media files. Probably should just use Rhapsody instead and would guess the videos/movies would run much smoother than in iTunes or QTtime.
Hi, may I know if you have difficulty hunting down all the individual drivers? I read some other sources & had the impression that the only 3 items not recognized after a fresh install of Win7 are:Originally Posted by mrodlies
1. Wifi component
2. DriveGuard
3. QuickLaunch
In addition, any issues trying to get the Win7 installer to recognize the full 160GB SATA properly during install? Need to "press F6 to install..."?
