    Well, time to report back.

    It didn't work.

Windows could not boot. It would blue screen immediately and I couldnt make out what the error was, but it wouldnt have mattered. Not even Safe Mode was working.

    (Sigh)

I reinstalled the original drive, and will spend countless hours patching it and installing apps to get it to where my 2133 was.... Such is life.

Why don't you try my solution detailed above? Worst that will happen is it still won't work. If it's really that much trouble to reinstall all your software, I would think it'd be worth a shot, but I understand if you think it'll be easier to reinstall, I probably would. I really just want someone to validate my process :? since I was too frustrated with it by the time I got it to work, I didn't want to risk screwing it up to validate it. ops:

The new system already came with XP SP2 installed, so it wasn't that bad. A few hours of tweaking here and there, I backed up the whole thing and restored it onto the SSD drive. All is good now. I find the 2140 a lot more usable now. I even installed iTunes and it works without studdering!!!

After I ran it for a while I did the Windows 7 update anyway. Windows 7 runs just as good as XP performancewise, and the graphics look a lot better.
