Very happy with my HP mini 210. Running windows XP. In United States.
In my travels I like to have my own Internet access.
I am using Verizon broadband access with a USB UMW190 modem. Works as advertised.
Windows software comes on a disk or you can download it if you already have a Verizon account and some variety of Internet access.
I installed from disk with a USB external disk reader.
Suppose you could use another computer to download the software and put it on a USB memory stick and then do the installation of software.
Would like to hear experiences with people in other countries and/or other wireless broadband providers.

I am enjoying my MiFI 2200 from Verizon. Up to five devices can be connected to it. I use it all the time for presentations - where the projector, computer, and iPod touch are all connected and in sync. A little more "flexible" than any plug-in USB WiFi device.
