Default BIOS password?

I got this computer from my boss as he thought it was useless (trying to run Vista on it with 1 gig ram) so he gave it to me.

He say he did not set up the computer and the guy who did is long gone.

When i try to enter the BIOS it ask me for the current password. Does anyone know if there is a default password or if I am stuck without BIOS access? (I can access the main OS)

I have tried open the laptop up to remove the battery but one need a special screwdriver I dont have.

I have not tried a bios update. But that will, well do nothing i guess.

Anyone know any software that is able to recover the password?

I solved it. I upgraded the bios to the latest version and the password went away.

omg bios password wiped by bios flash is that normal?

i thought it would stay? even resetting bios on some bords won't erase the bios pw
