Hi,
I posted a similar thread just before the website changed ... not the best of times to try it, so here it is again!
I saw the great guide for changing the RAM and am interested in doing this to my own HP2133. I have the 1GB version and Crucial charge just under £40 for the 2GB upgrade.
Before I go ahead with this, could anyone advise on how much the performance might improve on the HP2133 as a result. I'm not 100% sure it'll be worth it, as the graphics aren't particularly good anyway, but I'd be grateful for a bit of advice from anyone who has already tried it.
Thank you!

Your experience will be, that there are less situations when your hp mini 'hangs'. I doubt you will see a big difference when running benchmarks, however the felt speed is more important and this will definitively increase.
If you upgrade and think "well, there is no real increase" just downgrade back to 1GB and you wil definitively see the difference. upgrading ram usually is something you don't realize until you remove the ram again ;-)
it depends what you're doing 2GB will help if theres more open/in use at the same time
that means it won't speed up a clean ubuntu install in its minimal configuration but it will speed it ub if firefox runs mad with 21 pages opened :-)
EDIT:
omg autocad on the mininote? which edition (year?)

The extra memory will help but as stated, the CPU speed makes a difference, too. The 2133 uses a portion of RAM for video so 2 Gig will give a little more for video as well as memory. I have 2 Gig in mine and I can run AutoCad on it (although it worked back with 1 Gig)
