Okay, So the Hp mininote is not mine its my friends and I'm (attempting) to fix it for her. The product key on the bottom says Hp MINi 1000 so I guess that is my model. ANyways I had to reformat the drive as it was so full of viruses that it would be the quickest way. Now I cannot install a OS. I tried booting windows XP via usb 4-5 different times on 2 different usb keys and multiple different .iso. SO I decided to use windows 7 instead. Windows 7 as well fails. I got varying different error messages with xp. Windows 7 I get the same "0x????????? file cannot be found ect ect" when the installation reached the expanding windows files phase. I am running /r on chkdsk now through the repair now, but it doesn't seem likely to help. Is their something wrong with the hard drive or a missing driver?
p.s. The windows 7 disc was used to install windows 7 on a Mac via VMware and it is running flawlessly so windows 7.iso is confirmed working.
