I have been on the service center chat with HP and they are shipping me a recovery reload of XP Pro. They want me to reload the software and report if Xcard is still not being recognized. Hate to do this since I just got it running with all the programs and settings but they want me to try this (although I have reloaded the drivers a gazillion times) before they will take it back to the HP repair center.

Make an image of the entire hard drive prior to the reload. That way if their fix does not work you can easily return your hard drive to its original state. I use Acronis True Image application for this type of process but there are lots of other image applications available on the net.

Is there anything I am overlooking on this expressCard issue? Card is enabled in bios. All the latest drivers are loaded. Should I not get that familar, "Windows has found a device" whenever I plug my card into the mini? If anyone sees any obvious thing I am not doing, it would be most appreciated if you would let me know. I Really did not want to send back to HP if I could help it.

    Default Update

Sent the unit into HP twice: still no resolution. First time they said it was the board and replaced it. When I received it, the mini still did not recognize the MOGO mouse. Sent it back again. This time they stated could not find a problem and returned it to me. Well I have ordered some cheap adapters from China to do my own, more indepth verification (card or socket problem) but as stated earlier, MOGO works well in two other laptops. So I guess the bottom line is I have a great little mini without X54 capabilities.

    Default Final outcome

The MOGO works (but does not charge in the x54 slot) with my mini. Put a usb to express card adapter on the mini to charge card and it works fine when paired to BT. So the problem is the X54 slot, right? WRONG - the express card slot works great with two different express cards (a usb and a firewire card). So the bottom line is everything works; just not together. I guess my mini just doesnt like my MOGO.
