Default BIOS Upgrade

HI All,

I tried to upgrade the BIOS on HP Mini 2133 from version 02 to 05. After the upgrade the BIOS is continuously rebooting with out prompting for OS. The BIOS does not let me use F9 to choose the boot options or see the installed SLED. So is there a method to reinstall the BIOS firmware. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Anil

Thanks luvit,

At this point BIOS does not let me boot from anything other than NETBOOT. As soon as it reaches netboot step (i.e) to configure network boot using CTL+S it reboots. Is there a way to break this reboot cycle and get into the system and fix it with the new BIOS firware?

Thank you,
Anil.

was your bios properly installed? try connecting the power adapter cable to your mini-note and then re-flash your new bios.

Well the power adapter is connected. I feel that BIOS was not properly installed. I can see
version F0.5 during boot up, but for some reason it is not reaching the screen where i can choose boot options.

Since i am not able to get into BIOS i am assuming that BIOS is not installed properly. Is there way to install BIOS using an USB floppy drive when the BIOS is bad?

Thanks for all the help.

thanks for the updates.

i would pull out the hard drive, in hopes of the bios being forced to choose the USB flash, or CD-ROM drive to re-flash itself...

be careful, the HD cable is brittle, use the loop on the cable to pull the connector straight-up.

if that is not helpful, i believe you'll need the help from HP tech support on alternatives... perhaps even a RMA...

keep us updated.

Thanks Luvit for all the help. Pulling the HD did not help. I am in the process of contacting HP to get this issue fixed.
