| Hi, a two days old HP 2133 FU339EA randomly hangs on a Win XP SP3. Mostly when surfing on the Internet. Once it hangs it needs to be turned off. Turning on and it works for a while, sometimes an hour, sometimes a couple hours without hanging. Should I return it to the HP or there's something I can do? A firmware upgrade perhaps or something else? Thanks in advance, Tomislav |

| Senior Member | lol... You'll find no way of testing heat... They run warm anyway, so there's no 100% method to check for heat. The things works after a restarts so leaving it cool down for a while won't prove anything. Only an entire reinstall will prove anything... Also, after an OS install, do not load any apps in case its a popular app you use causing the problem... Just install the OS and the drivers and play some music or surf the web a bit. |

| Thanks for the all inputs. There are no any extra aplications on it at the moment, just XP with SP3 and all latest patches. Also, there's no difference between working on batery or A/C adapter, it hangs in both cases, if that matters. Anyway, I'll look into that "heat issue" and reinsatall OS without SP3. |

| Ok, after reinstalling Win XP, but this time with SP2 only it worked fine for about 5 hours. Then it hanged again. Btw. I was monitoring temperature all the time, it never had CPU temp over 62 deg. of Cel. and at the moment of hanging CPU temp was 50 degrees only. So, it is not heat related I believe. In the mean time I read most of the my issue related topics on this forum and found this: http://www.hp2133guide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=804 So I adjusted power options in control panel to full speed/always power on. Oh well, will see how it goes now. |

| Senior Member | Download a program called http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php Pc Wizard, It gives temperatures of core parts, it may be your hard drive thats frying or some other part on the netbook. |
