i didn't want to start or get into any arguments over anything. i'm simply posting this as a means of showing that it can be done. it's been done on the eee and on other umpc, the mini note was just around the corner.

and i'm not saying just because i owned a legal copy made it justified for me to do this. i already know about apple's policy and that this violated said policy. i never said that owning a legal osx disk justified doing this type of activity or any other "hackintosh" type of activity.

but i don't feel as guilty doing something like this to test my knowledge or mess around because i know i live in a pirated world and am pretty confident that most of you have no right to judge me about this type of activity because of this pirated world we live in. just take this thread with a grain of salt and appreciate that your mini can handle osx, because mine can!

heck if i had a copy of OSX i would try it on the mini, if i get one i'll be doing what Warder has done and putting a tri-boot on it, would mostly use XP and sometimes Vista and put Linux on there to learn more about it and if i had OSX well that would be the same, i do it as a learning exercise first to see if i could do it and second to learn more about the OS and how to work it.

If you check what is happening on instanelymac forums (they are US-based, had some legal threats from Apple) you can see, that until no links (at least direct) to copyrighted materials are posted there should be no problem.

Was down at HTs wed last week, they sell 10.5.1 Leopard Full Retail version for $150 . . . very tempting to get that when i get my mininote, oh yeah Apples site for the same thing is $249?!? Couldn't believe that as HT is normally a RRP+bit more seller when it comes to price (same thing with Adobe Creative Design Suite Premium 3.3 $2846 at HTs and Adobe sell it for over $3200).

Only bumber i can see is they dont have iLife with it, seems to be available preinstalled with their systems tho so no Garage Band unless you buy iLife as well.

I had in the past tried to get OSX running on a Different system, but never any real luck. I have ALL Versions of OSX and will run ANY of them. Run a Dual-Boot and have the Best of My Worlds..

I believe that retail version is for business/school use, hence why iLife is not installed. I know the Leopard they have installed on my school's computers don't have iLife. That could explain the more expensive version you were looking at on Apple's site. Just a hunch :?:
