Default still no support for 4gb

I tried a Qimonda HYS64T512022EDL 4GB DDR2-667 module today and the mininote will not start. the blue light is on, however the start screen does not appear.

the same module works without problems in a vostro 1500 core2duo notebook.

Has anyone installed a 4gb module in their 2133? Very interested in doing this but awaiting feedback from those that upgraded their bios as well.

Also, anyone notice a major battery life gain by installing a SSD and yanking the 120gb hard disk?

I have a HP2140 which I have upgraded to a 128gb SSD. I have seen an increase in battery life of between 15-20 minutes. This was with continues use of both wifi and blue tooth mouse while on the internet. There is however a down side to SSDs and that can be best described at a 'lag' in hard drive activity during use. Most often this is short but can come at a time you least expect it.

Which SSD did you get? I got a Corsair 2nd gen 120GB and have not experienced any lag whatsoever.

I got a patriot warp. I had no lag at first but after about 3 months it started showing up.

I know of several desktops my friends have with ssd drives that lag out... They lag out watching vids and playing games and even mousing without apps open. The mouse just freezes for a few seconds...

Some have ssd raid and some are simple single ssd drives. But most of them do it... I'll never go ssd due to the risk... A lot of money for the likelihood I'd have to remove it... I could not stand system freezes of 2-3 seconds...

I've only had mine for 1 month, so I'll be on the lookout for that. So far so good though...

Back to the 4gb ram issue, does the atom n270 documentation (assuming it is available) suggest in any way that anything over 2gb could be supported?

All the nifty hacks here seem to be developing on 2133s; it almost makes me wish I hadn't bought the better machine. ;)

@kasia: you have to look for the chipset, not the cpu, how many ram is supported.
