Default Continue at Your Own Risk - Heat Issue Fix.

    hi, guys

    im a pc tech ,

i have found a great mod to fix the heat issues almost instantly,

all you need to do is remote the vent grill inside the side vent of the 2133

you can do it without opening it up (easier to do openeing it tho) , this will remove the air restriction.

a flat tipped screwdriver will work. the vents are just plastic. pull the vent out in peices if you have to.

my 2133 dropped 25-30c from it. (makes a huge diff on the 3cell, even huger on the 6cell)

also, the bottom vent can be removed for even greater vent.

    ill post you some pic's

i realize huger is most likely not a word, but i did not major in english....is that and excuse?

    haha

    Default pics and update

    hey

    pics

    sorry about poor quality,

pics are taken on cell phone :P

i think it actually has helped out my battery life a bit also, the fan does not run as fast all the time.

that vent is blocking almost all the air , i would say 60% or more.

it is working out fantastic, i was going to return this from the heat issue.

    now it is gone!!

    good luck guys,

    josh

Wow, I just removed the grill as per you instructions. Made a BIG difference in heat level.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Be adviced that this will void your Mini-Note's warranty!

Warranty? What if mine was never shipped with that grill?

My 2133 still waiting in customs - will try to do something like this - maybe it's possible to do it a reversible way?

You could do it by taking the mini-note apart, but that still voids your warranty...so there's not much you can really do w/o giving that up.

I'll give it a shot and do some temp tests (just from the hardware diagnostics I don't have any fancy equipment for temp taking)
