thing is, if isaiah is 64 bit, what use would it be to run 32-bit XP on it?
if the OS has to be 32-bit XP, wouldn't it be pointless to use a 64-bit processor?
if that is the case, is the best option for XP, the 2.0ghz C7M?

well, it's the same size, at least!
A look at VIA's next-gen Isaiah x86 CPU architecture
http://techreport.com/articles.x/13996
..the firm set the goal of delivering twice the C7's performance at the same clock speed and within the same power envelope. VIA now claims Isaiah has two to four times the C7's per-clock throughput, depending on the application.
Four Isaiahs (left) next to single C7 (right). Forgive the flaky focus.

no i wouldn't tell you that. lulz. you cannot upgrade the motherboard unless you you feeling lucky and found a used 1.6 mobo on ebay.Originally Posted by wtfbollos
we would only be assuming your chasis will fit the mobo. (safe bet).
here's where i would start, since you're willing to spend some dough on an expensive mobo.
in order of importance.
1. buy a 2GB RAM module.
2. upgrade your bios from hp's website.
3. consider windows updates to SP3, and only allow critical updates.
3b.. consider a clean in stall of windows, upgrade to SP3, only allow critical updates.
4. search Google for: XP UMPC tweaks
4b. follow directions of SEVERAL SITES (pre-read before following steps).
5. buy a 7200RPM drive
i would only say steps 1-4b are necessary and provide the best results.
