Now I have been all over the net and seem to not find a fix for this. Though I was on another forum and a member posted that Age Of Empires 2 was playable on the 110.
However I am uncessuful on getting it to run. I am sure its because of the native 1024x572 scree res.
When i boot the game this is the error message i recieve:
"could not initiliaze graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw"
Trouble shooted the error and found on the Microsoft website (Even though all their Knowledge Base stuff for AOE2 are outdated. But they seem to point to a NOSTARTUP parameter)
1. Updated Direct X with latext version
2. Updated Intel 945 Chipset Drivers to latest version 6.14.0010.4926
3. Added the no start up paramater to the shortcut. Basically it should boot the game with out the video intro. Which microsoft is pointing to be the issue.
I have found a work around using the screen resolution tool, to bump my screen res to 1024x768 @ 60hz but its annoying to have to reset it and redo my icons every time on my desktop after playing
Also running the dxdiag.exe tool via run command on windows, it appears that i dont have AGP Texture accelaration is not enabled. Anyone know how to enable this? or can anyone confirm that after running dxdiag.exe and then click on the display tab at the bottom is AGP enabled?
This is a major pain though i played it and there is some slight scrolling you have to do to move from side to side and up and down, but i still cant get it to play.
