Mini 1000 SSD running out of space My HP Mini 1000 is running out of room quickly on it's 16gb SSD. I've been thinking about compacting the SSD is that a good idea or what?
Don't bother - what you (and the file system) sees isn't "real" - the SSD hardware is keeping it
"compacted" as part of its wear leveling of the erase blocks - you only see a "virtual" disk surface.
Depending on what OS your running - there are some things you can do to give yourself more room.

16GB for XP is a stretch. Other than removing all non-essential software, a bigger drive is in order.
