Default SOLVED HP 2133 Slow Video Performance

    Hello Everyone

So, as you see in the title, i have a very bad video performance. I have read from people that are able to watch the 720p-Trailer from Transformers on the 2133, but i am not. I have installed the Goomplayer (which most people recommend) but i still have those video lags. I also have lags when watching youtube vids. I know its a different pair of shoes, one is flash and the other one is a file, but both lag.

It's the 1.6GHz model, was shipped with linux and i upgraded to XP Sp3 by an nlited XP Professional CD directly. I have the latest drivers (November 15th) from Via installed, Video and Chipsetdrivers and everything, but i really have no idea, why this one is not working!

Video driver says (translated from german)

    Bios Version: 91.00.02.08

    S3-Driver
    Show Driver: s3gigp.dll 6.14.10.0146-20.04.01o (DX 9)
    Miniport-Driver: s3gigpm.sys 6.14.10.0146-20-04-01o
    OpenGL ICD: s3gigpgl.dll 20.04.01o

    DirectX 9.0c
    DirectX Media: 6.05.2600.5512
So if anyone has an idea, what i could do next, i would really appreciate that.

    Kind regards from Switzerland

I've had very good performance from KMPlayer. Maybe you could install that and see if it works. I have not tried playing 720P video on my 2133 yet, but will try to download the Transformer 720P trailer here to see if it works for me.

Thx for your recommendation. I have just found out, that these were the wrong drivers... Now i have:

    Bios Version: 91.00.02.08

    S3-Driver
    Show Driver: s3gigp.dll 6.14.10.0164
    Miniport-Driver: s3gigpm.sys 6.14.10.0164
    OpenGL ICD: s3gigpgl.dll 20.07.01k

    DirectX 9.0c
    DirectX Media: 6.05.2600.5512

This is the Driver from November 14th. But why does my Device-Manager still say, that the Driver is dated October 2008???

Youtube-Videos are now playing close to 25fps, some short lags still, but viewable. Not in Fullscreen.

Thanks for the tip. It really is not that bad when only one tab is open. I think it is even close to normal, say "viewable".

I just runned Geekbench and had 551 points. This is 6 points less than another bench i found but this could be because of firewall/antivir/msn/whatever.

I am now able to watch the transformers 720p trailer with media player classic and the k-lite-codec-pack with a very small lag. meaning that this should now be ok. I am not going to watch 720p movies anyway but was just wondering about that.

All i need to know right now is: Do others also have around 551 points in geekbench and are all my drivers installed correctly. I also downloaded the HyperionPro-Drivers and used them for instance for the "CPU-AGP-Bridge". They seemed to not install properly...

Thanks for every answer. We have 7 2133's here and all of them seem to have the same problem. I read about deinstalling sp3, applying a patch and installing sp3 again. But don't really think that it has to do something with this...
