Default Games that excel on HP 2133...

Hey I'd like to start a thread as a resource for gamers on the HP 2133.
Make sure and post which game (special edition, Expansion pack etc.).
Include what settings the game was playable on, performance-quality ratio, your 2133 hardware configuration (cpu, memory, hard drive, OS etc.) and display driver settings.
Wish I could overclock this puppy, and make it into a wolf...

    Default I'll start...

    1. Divine Divinity: retail cd version
    very playable on 1280*768 @ 32bit(very smooth)
    (max settings)
    2. The Longest Journey: retail cd version
    very playable on 1280*768 @ 32bit(very smooth)
    (max settings)
    3. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne: retail cd version
mostly playable on 1280*768 @ 32bit (a tad choppy, but mostly smooth)
(medium-low custom settings) they were automatically determined for me by the launcher
    4. Unreal Tournament: first retail version(thanks to GamingDad for the referral)
extremely playable on 1280*768 @32bit (the GUI is slower, but game is buttery smooth)
(max settings with all special effects on, Hardware D3D)
other notes...dont let the opening movie fool you (was a bit choppy), this game is an ideal candidate for the hp 2133

The rival site, which even Warder participates in, has a gaming section with a long history:

This should bring this thread faster to date.

MAME is perfect with the Mininote

Gametap is okay, you can play some games

Warcraft 3 is smooth on lower settings

    Diablo II works perfectly.

Starcraft works as good as Diablo II

So far here are my results on a 1.2GHZ/2GB Ram/Vista Basic machine :

    - Commandos 2 : plays great
    - Rogue Spear : plays great widescreen
    - Swat 3 GOTY : plays very well widescreen
    - Civ 4 : plays ok widescreen (sluggish but its a turn based game)
    - Enigma : -will- play great once they release Version 1.10 still in testing
    - Tribes 2 : not so great
    - KOTOR : mildly acceptable using 16bit color desktop, although i'll probably uninstall.
    - NWN : Bad... even after patching, using low texturepack and low res.
    - Ballance : plays very well 1024x768

@hip mini, interesting results re NWN. Others have posted great results using it, maybe the extra 400MHz on the CPU helps out?

I have the KX870AT (Vista, 1.6Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 120GB HD), and here are some thoughts on games:

Note: I have generally done a 'Clone CD' on the play disk and used Daemon Tools to mount it to avoid using my USB CD Drive. Some games like Unreal don't require the disk, and Jedi Knight comes with a no-CD solution. Same for NWN and Diabblo 2.

    FPS
    - Early stuff like Doom, Doom II, Duke Nukem, Dark Forces, Rise of the Triad, Wolf3D, HeXeN, Heretic, etc - all run great through DOSBox
    - I have been playing the 'class of 98', actually starting with '97 - Jedi Knight, Quake II, Unreal, SiN, Mysteries of the Sith, and Half-Life (Steam Version). All run great.
    - No One Lives Forever runs great.
    - No One Lives Forever 2 wouldn't run at all for me.

    RPG:
    - Baldur's Gate, BG2 and expansions all run great.
    - Divine Divinity runs well
    - Planescape: Torment runs great.
    - Wizardry 8 works great, but my CD3 has problems and I have to play with the CD in my USB drive.
    - Arcanum has pretty lousy performance and gets a bit unresponsive in menus, taking away some of the fun in playing it.
    - Temple of Elemental Evil actually seems to run better than Arcanum (surprising since the same company did both and ToEE came later). My first boot of it didn't go well, but I had some hung processes loading down the CPU.
    - Diablo 2 is fantastic performance-wise.
    - NWN runs acceptably but not great. I have installed both expansions and all the 'premium modules'. Oh, a couple of years ago I did a review of those posted here.

I have GameTap installed and running some stuff there (I'm Gold member), and want to run the full CD version of Betrayal at Krondor but haven't gotten around to it yet.

As mentioned here... http://www.hp2133guide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=216 ...Dugeon Seige, Red Alert 2 (and Yuri's Revenge), Black and White, Diablo 2 and Unreal all work fine.

    My specs are 1.2GHz / 2GB / BT / 120GB
