I really need to spend some more time looking at that one with my 1.6GHz / Vista setup

Not sure why nwn acts badly for my configuration... might be Vista/drivers and might be 400 mhz and probably both.

I do have latest video drivers, vista basic sp1, and i tried several nwn optimizations... although i think maybe not 16 bit desktop.

Could some XP user please try out this tech demo to see how it runs in XP? :
    http://www.garagegames.com/pg/demo.php?id=111

It looks absolutely amazing but very slow on my setup... if XP is any better it would make a good demo app to show off graphics.

Also i found Warsow runs great on my machine... its a free shooter based on q3 engine with cell shading... you can run bots and run graphics widescreen (edit cfg file), and graphics options maxed. This is another good demo application because its a completely free game with alot of configurability.

    Just another addition:

The recently released Fate: Undiscovered Realms game (family friendly dungeon crawler) runs great.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein runs great @ 1280 x 768, fov is modifiable for widescreen gaming, other similar quake3 engined games should be the same, similarly for Unreal2 engined games

Guild Wars MMORPG game is playable.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfCvxeLLOJo (video of Guild Wars on HP 2133 at youtube)

Tried on HP 2133 with 2GB RAM, 1.2Ghz, 120GB HDD, Windows Vista Basic.

settings and options tried mentioned below -

1024x768 only playable resolution, if you try to use another resolution it will just flicker back to 1024x768, can be played fullscreen or windowed.

Can change the interface to all small, normal, large or larger, no problem
though the standard normal is just fine (enlarging the interface makes for easier reading of the ingame chat)

Graphics Settings (tested with default settings(its plays fine) and highest possible)
    terrain quality tested: high
    reflections tested: All
    texture quality: high
    shadow quality: high
    shader quality: high
    anti-aliasing: none
refresh rate: default or 60 Hz

Visual Quality - low, medium or high ok
sound quality is good ran it at medium/middle

    enabled - vertical sync
    enabled - post-process effects
    enabled - best texture filtering

its tested on wired and wireless internet, the game would be better on faster wired internet connections, of course.

Anyone get Halo PC running on their Mini-Note?

I have a 1.6/2GB/120GB 7200rpm/Vista model, and I worked to no end trying to get the game up at 640x480, and even in DX7 mode, where it looks like 1980s graphics, I can't manage 15 fps.

I picked up a couple Acer Aspire Ones (for $249 each), which have an Atom 1.6 / Intel GMA950 graphics, and was blown away. Intel's graphics setup is pretty crappy, but it's worlds better than Via's Chrome 9 HC. The Aspire One can handle Halo at 1024x768, WMV HD video at 720p, etc., which my Mini-Note couldn't dream of handling.

Mini-Note's no fun. Fine for work stuff on the go or in class, but afterwards, I can't play movies or games (post-1997)- heck, this can't even play low-quality YouTube videos or high bit-rate MP3 songs smoothly...

Project 64, Nintedo 64 emulator runs games in a window 800x600x32 bit, any higher and sound can get choppy, and full screen in 800x600, but sound is a little choppy.

Winuae, Amiga emulator runs all games I have tried in 800x600 with sound, and runs AmigaOS in 1280x 768 32 bit faster than any real Amiga
