Haven't seen much in the way of detailed specifications, but I'm curious how cross-compatible these two machines might be. I would presume they can share the same basic HDD form factors, and other components look very similar (i.e. keyboards, AC adapters, and perhaps even batteries and screens).
Granted, we're talking about a generational difference here, since the 2140 would seem to have more in common with the 1000 series, but might anyone who is familiar with both the 2140 and the 110c have any educated guesses to offer?
I'm curious as a 2140 owner because I've just purchased one of the closeout 110c models from eCost (the OS upgrade alone made it worth the price of admission), and I'm wondering what might be possible in terms of direct component retrofits, since I need to retain the aluminum case and ExpressCard slot of the older 2140. Still, it might be fun to do a bit of "Frankenmodding," if the parts are similar.
Opinions?
