- i have come across information that pin points the inconsistencies in success of installing ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibdex on a hp mini note 2133.
- you can definitely use the standard GUI ubuntu CD if you use the F. 04 BIOS from HP. click here for the F.04 iso.
- just burn this image to CD and boot to it (F9 boot option) to upgrade/downgrade your BIOS.

- so you see there is no risk in operating with the F.04 BIOS revision and you get to use standard ubuntu installation.
if you download & apply
VIA CHROME drivers & an xorg.conf config you may apply the newer BIOS F.05F. (nothing to gain)...
