Jan 04, 2010 - 12:42 PM - by Dunhamzzz

First of all, Happy New year to all our members, I was away for the last 2 weeks but everything is back on track with the site now!
The upcoming HP Mini 210 has already been sited in the wild, despite having a release date of 7th January.

The HP Mini 210 features the Intel Atom Pinetrail chipset, consisting of an Intel Atom N450 processor and an Intel GMA 3150 as well as all the normal netbook features, including 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows 7 and wireless.

With the HP Mini 210, HP have really gone for design, with a fashionable chiclet keyboard, unibutton trackpad and what we can only assume will be outstanding build quality.

Check out our new HP Mini 210 forum.

The product is rumour to cost around $300, depending on specification. More information once it's released!

HP-UMPC Chat Servers

Dec 26, 2009 - 9:04 PM - by mikez

I will be taking down the Jabber servers next week.

Evidently, the "HowTo" entry in the Wiki already went to the great bit bucket in the sky.
But if anyone should stumble on mention of the chat servers in the forum threads...
don't be surprised that they do not respond and/or your account on them is in the bit bucket.

Note: This change does not effect this site's operation!
The chat servers where alwasy a totally different site.

HP Mini 311 Unboxed

Dec 10, 2009 - 2:00 PM - by Dunhamzzz

Brand Linder fom Liliputing just posted an unboxing video of a HP Mini 311 with NVIDIA ION graphics.
The HP Mini 311 comes with an Intel Atom N series processor and features a powerful NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card for great, low-power performance.
The texture on the notebooks lid is praised and Brad makes sure to point out the striking resemblance of the HP Mini 110. Once again, this looks like a well designed and put together notebook from HP.

Hit the [via] link for his full overview and a video.

Flextronics building 2 Million HP netbooks

Dec 08, 2009 - 4:56 PM - by Dunhamzzz

Flextronics are a large Singapore-based manufacturing company, who have just been handed a big fat order to produce 2 Million netbooks for HP. What's more interesting is that the Flextronics quote for all this work is just $45 a unit, almost half the industry standard of $70. A quick piece multiplication reveals that HP will be saving themselves $50M on the order compared to the standard cost of netbook production.

This means HP is getting major savings on its 2010 line of HP Minis, hopefully that will filter down to the consumers in some way...
